Once you’ve decided on new countertops,
please call our
showroom. We have experienced staff to help you through the process. You will
be invited to visit our showroom. If you cannot provide us with a
layout and measurements of your kitchen or bath, we will make an
appointment with you to take measurements at your home at no charge
or obligation.
At our showroom we have a selection of large samples, stock and exotic stone for you to choose
from. You may also visit our stone suppliers if you would like to
view entire slabs. If you select a slab at a stone supply
warehouse, they will put it on hold for you for up to two weeks. Tell
the supplier that your fabricator is South Atlanta Granite, and
they will deliver it to our fabrication shop once your contract with
us is
in place.

In order for South Atlanta Granite to
give you an estimate, you will need to consider the following
details:
-
Stone selection.
Stone is available in all price ranges, with exotic stone being
the more expensive. Our sales representative can bring a sample
board of our stock colors to you home. You may visit our
showroom or website, or you may select stone from a stone supply
warehouse.
-
Edge selection.
We have three standard
edges
that are free of charge. Others are charged by the linear foot.
-
Sink selection.
The most popular
sinks
are
undermounted. This will require a polished cut-out, adding to
the cost. We have a selection of stainless steel sinks
and small vanity sinks at competitive prices. If you supply your
own sink, we will need your sink during the fabrication process
in order to ensure proper fit. Drop-in sinks, drop-in
cooktops,
and faucets are done on-site during your installation, and labor
is free.
-
Back Splashes.
You may select the standard 4-inch back splashes or have custom
measured full back splashes to match your marble or granite
countertops. You may also plan to have a tile backsplash
installed after your countertops are in place. See our
gallery
for examples of each. We
do not install tile.
-
Tear-out.
If this is a renovation of existing kitchen or bath, there will
be a labor and removal charge.
Once the details have been determined
and in-home measurements have been taken, South Atlanta Granite will
provide you with an estimate within one business day. Next
step would be to have a template made at your home that will be used
in the fabrication process; this template will serve as the basis
for the final cost on your fabrication contract, which at
times may differ slightly from your original estimate. Your final
contract, which will be fully itemized for your review, will
be faxed or emailed to you for your approval and signature. A
deposit of 50%, and a signed contract will initiate fabrication and
secure an installation date within seven business days.
Before your installation date, you may
want to consider the following:
-
You must have your faucets on-site
the day of installation in order for the installers to cut your
faucet holes. The same is true of drop-in cooktops.
-
Countertop installers are not
qualified to reconnect your water faucets and gas lines after
installation. You must arrange to have a plumber do that for
you.
-
Our installers will make every
effort to remove all the debris from an old countertop
tear-out situation, but please know that countertop installation
is a construction process, so you should expect some residual
dust and debris. To make your clean-up easier, you may want to
cover or remove your cabinet and drawer contents or remove your drawers
and cover your cabinet contents.
After your installation is complete,
please consider the following items:
-
Seams will be visible, though
they are usually only about 1/16th of an inch wide. While new,
they may seem prominent to you. Within a week, you will cease
to notice them.
-
You will be asked to inspect and
approve your new countertops with your signature. Final
payment will be expected after installation, made directly to
South Atlanta Granite.
-
Please see our link to
stone care for details on how
to care for your new countertops. You may contact South
Atlanta Granite for any customer service issues relating to our
installation, as long as you own your home.
